[London Drugs] Sony a7R IV Body Only - open box $3,799.99 (ymmv)

the new version is out with the higher resolution screen on the back.
but otherwise it performs the same. probably better luck in store to check the camera out.
also there is a free battery grip as well which is like $400 with it.

so if you can score one that is in good shape, it's a good price with the grip.

It's a very good camera. It excels in controlled lighting like studio work, and the cropping ability it offers makes it a decent wildlife camera as well. Just note that 61MP is no joke and there are both advantages and drawbacks to that.

For Sony cameras, stores are obligated to stick to MSRP. But stores need to sell product and this camera isn't exactly easily sold. You can negotiate for more value like an extra battery, grip and SD card.

Agreed, Never pay the MSRP. I got my A7R4 for 3900$+tax with additional battery grip, 64GB sony tough card, 128GB lexar card. + at that time Sony had 10% cashback rebate.

Its pretty decent for wildlife, I do mostly wildlife and little bit of portraits and pets.

Yeah. You are going to need lenses with a lot of resolving power and a steady hand, even with IBIS/OIS, to extract the most from the sensor.

Do you have to do something special to get the battery grip? I’m not seeing it on checkout or on the product page. Thanks!

Higher resolution screen but slight decrease in batt life due to that. Camera performance is the same.

Take your pick if you are thinking if this body. Newer version with higher price or prior version with lower price. It doesn't really matter to me the higher screen on the back.

Might have to go in store. Or email their customer service.
