Very doubtful you will see VRR on these TVs, only the X900H will have that, according to Sony themselves. 1440p/120 is already be doable on these sets, I can do that on my 2016-model Sony without issue.

BTW, how is it that one puts the 950H fw on a 950G, is there a trick to it or does the TV just accept it and update to it with a USB update?

Source? What's the basis for the speculation?

What speculation? I can confirm motion handling is much better and Bluetooth issues have been resolved. I’m running the H firmware now and have no issues, it would not have installed if the hardware was not the same (obviously Sony forgot to lock the firmware).

The sleuth who discovered this already had 120hz and vrr unlocked via a hacked firmware on the 950G but then upgraded so that he can install the H firmware.

If you guys have any doubts then don’t do it and move on. If you’re interested, I posted the reddit link which will link back to the avsforum thread. Do so at your own risk of course, I take no responsibility.

this TV if used with computer video card like RTX 2070 which i have one, can it display HDR? play youtube HDR contents nicely?

how much are OLED 65 inch these days? about the same as this?

checked prices quickly around and seems like 1799 in canada. 1399 USD in usa. miss those days when exchange rate is 1:1.

I'm confused. Is the X900 the same as the X950H? Is this the 2020 model? I would be really interested in this TV if I can get VRR on it.

I get that it's essentially the same, but am I correct that 950G was introduced in 2019 and 950H was introduced in 2020? Is the 950G losing anything after installing the 950H firmware?

Does Sony honor warranty on Openbox/Demo units? I didn't jump on the LG C9/B9 because I read you might have issues with LG regarding warranty.

DEMO units usually are sold as new. Bought a C8 DEMO unit from LD and immediately got the OLED replaced under warranty.
