Yup your right lol

Sage must only be available in store. Can confirm at least 2 in stock at Richmond Ironwood earlier today. Best to call your local store to check for stock.

I just got one from LD in-store but it was $65.98 in total after taxes.
Apparently they charge the full price + taxes ($145.98) and then the coupon simply subtracts $80 off the net total. So it really wasn't $49.99 + taxes, which I had hoped for.
Anyways, a good price if you want/need one.

That's misleading. The coupon says "Buy a Google Nest Audio Sage for $49.99". You should've put up a fight. It doesn't say "Save $80 off a Google Nest Audio".

I did argue but they insisted the tax must be calculated based on the full price ($129.99), not the discounted price ($129.99-$80 = $49.99). First time using a LD coupon (vaguely worded indeed) so I wasn't sure what to say.

Maybe it's treated more like an after purchase rebate, that LD gets directlly from Google, rather than a coupon. As such, the $80 is a taxable benefit. If so, it would be better if they explicitly stated that.

That's simply not true - that's not how a coupon works lol. Sorry you had to deal with a moron in store. I used to work at LD for years, they're fanatical about customer experience - if you go back and talk to a manager they'll fix it for you.

Also that's just not how they apply coupons, so someone really screwed up in your case. The coupon value pulls off the retail before tax is applied, so you should have received the $49.99 price

I picked one up in-store and they did the same thing with me. Didn't even notice until I looked at the receipt at home. They charged tax on the full price. Never seen other retailers do that so definitely odd but oh well, still a good deal.

Signed up for LD extras today and picked one up in-store. The label said $129, not $99. The website said they had 1 left but they had 2.
There was a problem at checkout that the cashier had never seen before so they called the manager. They explained due to the discount ($80) being more than the purchase amount the system requires an extra step.
$49.99+tax, plus 3 months free YouTube Premium offered while setting up the speaker with the Google Home app! (14 days free, plus 3 months free after adding payment info).
Thanks OP!
