[Longos] AAA T-Bone Grilling Steaks $11.99/lb

Pretty good deal for T-Bone steaks, which are rarely on sale (at least AAA).

I rarely look at Longo's just because in general it is wildly expensive. But was near it today and checked.

Steaks I got were about 13 bucks each and look phenomenal.

It actually depends on the individual stores. Some stores here in the GTA have it priced at $9.99/lb and some stores have it advertised for $11.99/lb.

Yeah I was a bit surprised it varies between stores. I recall a few years ago a striploin steak was 7.99/lb at Stouville and when i went to the Bathurst/16th Longos (was just in the area) it was $8.99/lb.

So now I always make sure I look at the flyer at the location I'm going too.

This is key.

^ My local King Street West store in Liberty Village is $9.99/lb. Told my buddy about the sale and he bought steaks in his Richmond Hill store for $11.99/lb with a big frown. LOL

I know stores often have regional flyers but varying that much store-to-store within the same city is wild.

Not worth my time trying to find a store that has them for $9.99 but I'm happy to get a few at $11.99.

maybe it's possible to get them to pricematch? if you don't mind the hassle.

Longo's has good sales and time to time have same or better prices than No Frills. Quality and cleanliness is top-notch too. Even for produce, a mangled bunch of veggies goes for $2.49/lb while Longo's would be the same, but not mangled.

Also time to time, I tire of feeding the Weston family. Longo's has more of a local feel to them, versus billionaire empire.

For sure.... It's a luxury grocery store though without a doubt. You're right about cleanliness etc.

Wasn't trying to know them as a brand, but even if they have good sales on a few items, if you end up doing your big grocery shop there it will be quite expensive. Things that aren't on sale are 25 - 30% + pricier than competition.

I don't do single grocery store, more of a cycle and luckily they're all close together for me. Longo's house brand stuff is really good too and whatever money I save, I burn through the fresh bakery section. Their stuff is way better than any other grocery store bakery and most local bakeries!

GTA
I bought some yesterday.
The toughest Angus beef I've ever purchased.

Longos usually has good beef.
Not sure why these ones were so chewy.
It was like leather and I cooked it medium rare.
