Usually Longos' quality is better though I've found.

This is very frustrating to see. A whole fillet? A half pounder whole fillet? Or what

The ones in Costco (at least near where I live) are all previously frozen.

Wild is usually more expensive than farmed. Compare apples to apples pricing. I would never eat farmed fish.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I will be buying from Longos.

I remember few years back I bought from Longos and it was the best fish I've ever had. I also bought from Metro a few weeks later and it wasn't quite as good.

Though it seems Longos, Metro, Fortinos are all selling wild. Not sure about Costco.

All sockeye are wild.
If you buy vgro for a thousand years Vancouver homes will still be out of reach.

Right up there with measuring fuel consumption according to "Number of weeks between fill ups"...

Maybe it's different in Ontario but around here, $37.40 per kilo is NOT a deal. Fresh sockets fillets are $30/kg right now at Save On Foods.

Farmed sockeye salmon doesn't exist. If it's sockeye, it's wild.

Wild salmon is dark red from their diet.
The pink salmon we usually see is farmed.
Their natural colour of farmed salmon is grey but farmers add pink dye (organic dye that is same as carrot's ) to make it more attractive.

You're comparing flyer pictures as a way to judge the store? You know they can change the tint in the picture...I guess photo altering is worth every penny like Kim Kardashian would say. JK LOL.

Farmed sockeye salmon doesn't exist. If it's sockeye, it's wild.
Roger. I was just talking generally about fish.

But I've had sockeye from different stores and Longos is #1 for me personally.
