I bought a few monitors off Kijiji for my wife's home office. The prices are great comparatively to new.

I find it to be very low risk to buy from someone on Kijiji, no more than passing at the gas station for a fill up.

I only meet the individual in front of their house, they plug the monitor that's on the floor on their front porch to prove that it works while I stand 10 feet away. I send an e-interac payment, the seller unplugs the monitor and backs away as I pick up the monitor.

The monitor itself can be contaminated, but so can shipping boxes. Clorox wipes do the job, otherwise, leave the monitor in your garage for 4-5 days.
