Looking to buy Android Box + IPTV

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking to cancel my Cable and go with an Android Box after seeing so many reviews online, but don't know where to start.

There are so many boxes out there that I don't know which one to choose.

I'm also looking to get IPTV as well for the Family, focusing on the Indian TV Channels.

Is it easy to get IPTV installed onto the Box, how much am I looking to pay a month and from who should I get it from?

I have no clue when it comes to this type of stuff, so cut me some slack if I ask anything stupid.

Thanks in advance.

MAG 254 might be the way to go for you, you could get it off amazon.ca
W1 and W2 come with built in wifi.

I have been using MAG 250 from over a year and that thing is showing it's age now. Looking for android box and I was suggested to go with Dreamlink T1+ The price seems to vary from $110 to $120. But most confusing part is the RAM, some sites states as 1GB and others 2GB so not sure if there are 2 different models. Still looking into it. If someone has any information about T1+ please chime in.

a great number of developers from the top add ons have closed up shop offering no support for these moving forward. Lots going on in the courts so how this works out who knows. Many articles to be read

You're talking about Kodi add-ons.
Not IPTV.

correct, guess I should have read deeper into the OP, just assumed they wanted the box for Kodi as well as IPTV.

I recently picked up a BuzzTV 3000 at the recommendation of another RFD user for $120.
Has built-in WIFI.
Working well so far.

Bud I'm going to save you tons of time and headache here. pay close attention.

Hardware:

option 1 - xiaomi mibox - $100-130. Cheaper if you get straight from China
option 2 - nvidia shield - $300 from amazon. Beastly performance but more for if you want to game on the box

IPTV:

when you acquire said box, load up the google play store on android tv and download STB emulator pro for $7

then get an IPTV subscription. If you want indian channels, get Crown for like $12 per month

That's it. I just saved you weeks and months of headaches and trying different garbage boxes and annoying kodi streams that never work

Also, stay away from kodi for now. Not worth the headache.

I want to piggy back on this topic and ask about the audio output. Right now, I have an old Minix and it outputs in DTS. My videos can output in DTS pass through, from Kodi, to my receiver and I have my surround sound coming out of my system.

I would like to get a new Android box too...but I want one that will do DTS (or better -- i.e. ATMOS). What are the recommendations for an Android Box that does that?

Emulators have worse performance than dedicated boxes.
