Hello, wondering if anyone can help me out please! Looking for a cellphone plan for my mom. It will be BYOP - unlimited talk/text, and 250mb of data should suffice. Anything out there like that?

I'd suggest Public Mobile. You will not have unlimited talk but 100 outgoing and unlimited incoming minutes. If you add it to autopay, it will be 13$ and if you need more minutes , you can buy 500 minutes for 5$ that will last till you use it (no time limit). You do have unlimited texting and 250MB of data. So, it is almost all you were looking for. Public Mobile is using Telus network and I'm with them 1.5 years and quite happy..

I also recommend Public as a BYOP provider. Don't forget to get a referral code before you sign up so each of you get a $10 account credit.

use a dual SIM card cell phone.

Shaw mobile $0 for unlimited calling and message + $5 Fido 4GB LTE data.

Shaw mobile you can only get if you have internet with them and specific plan, so not sure if that is applicable here.

Thank you guys. I think my mom would have difficulty adding the $5 add-on for PM, would be easier to jump to the $25 plan for truly unlimited

Sure, that's one of the options. But if she doesn't need that many minutes per month (over 1000 which is more than 16 hours outgoing minutes), you could load for her few add ons once in a while. Remember, on PM, add ons don't expire until they are used completely. I really feel good to pay for what I use, not for what I could use.

Freedom Mobile Nationwide is $179 a year unlimited talk and text and can connect to other Towers. Include 5GB of data a year. Given you're in Ontario - I think the monthly would be less than $20.

+1 on public , you will get 1$ loyalty discount each year (5max - not sure) and referrals discuont (when you refer pm to someone)

also each referral qualifies for a buck off per month. And you get a buck off per month after your annual anniversary

True. I have a public mobile line and I'm paying $15/month less $8 in rewards per month

Set my mother in law on PM, and it's working great.
She don't call out much, only when she's out.
Unlimited messaging, and unlimited incoming calls works great for her.
