Try moving out of Toronto and then once you get some experience move back. It's ultra competitive for EIT positions in Toronto, at least if you get a few years somewhere else you'll have a leg up on new grads.
I remember you starting this thread a while back. Like I said earlier....and regardless of the people constantly saying how great it is to live in the boonies... Right now is actually an amazing time to be a civil engineer in the Gta especially with the summer season ramping up.
Different streams of civil will have different demand and salary. Transportation, municipal, Geotechnical and project coordinating /project management are all very busy fields.
