Looking for a fair priced basement contractor Brampton

Hi,
The house is by highway 50 and highway 10.
I have called a few contractors but trying to see whats fair to pay for this.
My plan is approved.
Contractors are welcome to send me their quote.
-Basic kitchen counter top.
-Basic flooring
-sound proof between top floor and basement.
-weather proof dry wall all around so basement doesn't get cold
-Door with a glass window to bring in some light

Thank you

For the few contractors you have called what is the price per sqft quote you received? What price per sqft do you consider fair?

I finished my basement about a year ago and found the costs all very similar after interviewing quite a lot of contractors. The main difference that I noticed the the standard finishing differed.

So far 63 000 for vinyl floor, marble bathroom, basic kitchen, basic dry walls.
57 000 for about the same finish.
47 000 for all basic.

Looking at your drawings I think it works out to around 725 sq ft. In my opinion I think the $47,000 quote is too low($65 per sq ft). The basement walkout and window enlargements should be at least $13,000-15,000 so the rest of the basement(including kitchen and bath) works out to be about $32,000. That is a very low quote for the job.

The company that I used is Desire Basement, maybe try them for a quote. For my job(late Fall 2019) they were around $55-60 per sq ft without a washroom, walkout or window enlargement. They did insulation, mold resistant drywall, plumbing, electrical, floor, wet bar with ikea cabinet, Canadian granite, laundry, stairs and panel upgrade to 200amp.

@bubuski - Nice pic. just curious how you found Desire Basement in the first place? I'd never heard of them before your post and am checking them out.
Did also do the city/residential permits for you?

I found them through Homestars and Google reviews...LOL. I did not have contractor referral from friends/family so had to research good reviews online then request quotes. I got about 8 quotes before I settled on Desire Basements as they were more flexible substituing materials that didnt fit their standard reno quote.

Yes they will take care of your permits with the City and ESA.

Thanks - when I got a quote for them, it didn't mention city permit -- only said ESA.

It's best to ask them about it just to confirm for your reno. Homeowner or contractor can submit the city permit.

Their quote includes a drawing and Mississauga does only digital permit submission which is about $200-300.

Highway 10 and Highway 50 are parallel to each other

… worse, they are also really far apart from each other.

Highway 10 (Hurontario) is the main road in Mississauga, and Highway 50 is the main artery in Bolton
