Looking for a good wireless AC USB adapter for an Early 2014 MacBook Pro

It seems the unit's got two USB 3 ports (up to 5 Gbps) so just in case the internal wifi adapter is really kaput, I may need to get an inexpensive but high quality wifi usb adapter.

Daughter is complaining her wifi is out. I told her to go through these things and see if her wifi adapter will start to work again:

Going to have to check the unit while she is back home during reading week.

Did this happen suddenly?

Is the card detected by the OS?

Does Bluetooth work?

Wifi and Bluetooth functionality are provided by a single plug-in card that can be easily replaced. Before replacing the card, I would create a backup, erase and reinstall the os, and test the wifi. If it still doesn't work, get a replacement card from Amazon: (https://www.amazon.ca/Padarsey-Replacem ... 5690392011).

A usb AC dongle is going to cost a lot more and not be as good.
