Looking for Keyed Alike Entry Door Knob and Single Cylinder Deadbolt Lock Combo Set

Hi,

I am looking for Keyed Alike Entry Door Knob and Single Cylinder Deadbolt Lock Combo Set, Front Door Entry Knobs Lockset and Deadbolt Combination Set, Keyed Entry Knobset with Same Keys, Polished Brass.

Something like what is offered on Amazon.ca. Anyone knows if I can get something cheaper locally in Vancouver? Is the offering on Amazon sounds reasonable in price?

buy the knob lockset you want and get a weiser smart key deadbolt and configure it to work with the knob key lock.

That set you linked to seems grossly overpriced. I wouldn't pay 50bucks a lock for some no name brand. There are cheaper options on Amazon, not sure why you landed on that set.

I am not considering smart key option. Just trying to replace as 4 that are not working properly whenever I insert the key. I need to carefully align it and turn slowly or else key will snap.

Years ago when we helped relatives into a new house, we went to Home Depot, selected the handsets we liked (all by the same company) and asked them to "re key" them to all use the same key. We had to wait a half hour as only one employee knew how to re key, but they did it. (We did phone ahead to be sure that Home Depot offered re keying.)

Would something like that work for your needs?
If so, I would phone the hardware store to check if they can do it.

Weiser has something called a smart key system. If you buy smart key locks, you can rekey them all yourself to one key.

Or, you could do what betcrooks suggested too. Call your local store and ask.

What if I also have Door Knob.. Do I need to buy four different set of each Weiser Deadbolt and doorknob?

Yes, get the deadbolts and get the matching or closely matching plain knobs to go with. Some come in sets with a lock knob and deadbolt, bit those are more expensive.

First off, the set you originally posted are Grade 3, you should strive for Grade 2 or Grade 1 and as noted they are an unknown for quality.

Go to Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and buy the set you would like. They generally can come in pairs, matching handset and deadbolt X 2. With Kwikset, Weiser or Schlage they all have a key code on the package itself, just be sure to buy them all having that same key code. Here is a Defiant set that is sold by Home Depot just to show you the code I am talking about (or get the Smart Key):

ok thanks all..

So basically I can buy a few Weiser ones and then rekey to all my existing keys including the ones come with Weiser and with open all doors correct?

Is there any deal going on on Weiser or any other smart key brand?

Possibly, it depends if the existing keys actually fit into the new locksets. Best is to just replace the locks (as you plan) and use the new keys only.

Unless, I am just mis-reading your question.Smiling Face With Open Mouth
