Looking for a minivan | advise please

Hi,

I am looking for a minivan, nothing too fancy but just want more space, currently driving an Elantra.

Looking at 2020 Caravan demo with 1k on it(31k + tax) I am sure there is a lot of room to negotiate here.
OR
a new 2021 Chrysler SE.

Would be driving around 8k an year, mostly WFH, occasional long trips.

Unable to decide which way I should go. Appreciate your thoughts/advise .

Please see attached and let me know. Thanks.

Kia Carnival. More bang for your buck and a nice long warranty. Stellantis products are always suspect.

Weirdly cool. Never heard of that Kia before.

The NORTH
Wouldn't touch a new model in the first year till there is some reliability numbers, especially a kia.

IMO if you are driving only 8k a year, save the $$ and Uber for local rides, rent for long drives. The cost of ownership doesn't justify the need. But if you are already set on one also consider the Pacifica hybrid.

Good luck.

Grand Caravan is long in the tooth but well established tech. Pacifica is recent and most of the bugs have been worked out.

Well, if you are looking at minivan options then Alex on Autos has a 5 part series comparing, the Kia Carnival, Honda Odyssey, Chrysler Pacifica, and Toyota Sienna.

The Dodge Grand Caravan has been discontinued but you may be able to find some still on dealer lots so you may be able to negotiate a good deal but as we are in summer and many are looking to road trips during the pandemic, minivans may be in demand.

Considering you may only do 8k a year, maybe look at renting instead depending on how often and when you do go on road trips.

The Kia Carnival is the next-gen Kia Sedona. Kia changed the name to Carnival to match the name in the rest of the market like they did with the Optima to K5.

Thanks for the video. Renting is not an option for me as I live in a small town couple of hours from Toronto and having a vehicle with me is a must.
