Looking for Small tablet or Large phone Devices for kids (ANDROID)

Hello,

Any suggestions? Used or New. I am open to either.
Between $100 to $200 perhaps?

I want to get my kids (6 and 8 years) a good portable device
- Android device
- Big enough screen that they won't have to squint to read text
- BUT small enough that it is convenient for them to carry around anywhere in a pocket
- Recent enough that it will still get updates for at least a year or two still

Not sure if to get a large phone or small tablet. Hence I'm looking for recommendations.

Reasons:
- I want Android because I can manage the device using Google Family. So that rules out Amazon Fire devices.
- Myself and one of my kids have ADHD, I have various strategies (electronic and otherwise) to help him and this device is just one step.

So basically a large phone, not a tablet.

In that price range, new with warranty, I would recommend a Motorola G Fast, currently on sale at Costco for $150. 6.4" screen, fairly clean Android.

On Kijiji, you can easily buy a Motorola G Stylus for about $200, which is only a bit more (since you're not paying taxes) and better overall specs. Carriers like Zoomer had this as a hardware upgrade recently, so there are plenty of BNIB on Kijiji.

If you are with FIdo, you can get a tablet right now for $0/month! There are threads on RFD explaining how to get this deal.
Basil: Well, may I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically -?

Excellent that is exactly the kind of suggestion I was looking for. Thank you!
I will do some more research but that model looks like what I need.

Unfortunately I'm with Telus right now.

Cool thanks, I'll do some reading on this model too.

The Motorola G Fast is only available in store as clearance so you might have to do some calling to find any available. Costco has replaced it with the Motoroloa G Play for $199.

If you can find the G Fast its a good device. I bought 2, one for each of my parents as they were using very old devices and they both love the G Fast.
