Looking for a smart nitelight

I've been looking for a nite light that is programmable and controlled (ideally) by Google Home. I haven't had any luck. My current 'solution' is to use a regular light plugged into a smart plug plugged into the wall. Works fine except it sticks out horribly.

Has anyone seen a smart nite light that's in stock for purchase?

What is the specific use case for it to be smart. Just trying to understand exactly what you want so that we can explore a few options.
To start with, I think Philips makes a light which can gradually increase brightness in the morning.
If it just for ambient lighting at night, then you could install a smart receptcale. Works similar to smart plug, but now you have all the components inside gangbox.

I imagine you are looking for a SMART solution / timer …
cuz a standard on-off switch one is a PITA
and your location too dark all the time …
That one with an on-off light sensor won’t work
(Light would be on all the time )

A smart plug set up like you have now … might be your only choice

* NOTE - The Phillips SmartSleep Wake Up Light that @IndyBeak mentioned is a cool item … but it’s not a night light … it’s more of a Sleep-Wake Alarm Clock … without the aggravation of an alarm

mainly to program it for on/off times instead of relying on a light sensor. I'd also like it to be slightly brighter than ambient as it's for my grandmother for the nightly washroom trips

How about the remote controlled night lights that Costco used to sell. You could adjust color and brightness on them.

They will not turn on/off on a timer but a simple switch on remote that can be placed next to bed.

No need to. Get one on eBay ... plug into the receptacle. Lights up when it is dark. ONLY uses 1 Watts MAX ...

^ Have a link? If it’s just a photo sensor based one that won’t fit my needs

LED lights are so efficient now, it may be easier and not more expensive to just have 1 always on.

I had this issue for kid trips to the bathroom. Ended up using a lamp and a Costco Globe bulb, turned to 1% and blue. Works awesome. Lamp might be too bulky for your use though?

Hope I'm not threadjacking, but does anyone know of any nightlights that have both a light sensor that turns on when it gets dark and a motion sensor that brightens up the LED when it detects motion.

Just curious what your use case for the night light is that a photo sensor won't work with. We have very sensitive ones that have no problem turning on no matter what you do - heck it turns on when I'm just rolling around in bed.

Is this something that interests you? You seem to mention you want something tight to the wall:

It's not a smart light but I am sure takes very little power. It's part of the outlet cover so can be used anywhere (not just switches like the picture).

Legrand Adorne can get pricey but look awesome. Perhaps there are other types as well.

Do you have some sort of current home automation setup? I am thinking if you do, then you can also explore putting a smart bulb in the overhead ceiling light. This way you can turn it on/off based on timing instead of photo sensor. And you can also set the brightness.

Like I have a bunch of lights on timers around the house. They turn on/off and change brightness on a schedule.
