Looking for Tablet recommendations

My RFD friends

I'm looking for a tablet for my toddler and for myself to share.

My price range is about 50-250 $, obviously I'd want better features at the higher end.

6, 7, 8 or 9 inches
I think my required features are;
- Rooted options so I can put adaway on it. (With some instructions from XDA)
- MicroSD for storage solutions
- 3.5 mm
- Bluetooth

Some Nice to Haves:
- Stereo speakers
- 2018-19 model - basically something I can get a few years out of.
- Scratch resistant or Child resistant. I doubt I'd find MIL 810D
- Water proof would be awesome
- OLED or nice IPS. I'm sure I won't find much OLED in this price range.

My baseline is the Fire 7 Tablet, but I'm told its very old and slow at this time, an it might not be sufficient.

I like Chinese.

I kind of like my Hi9 Air.
Has everything on your required list.
Not sure on speakers. Probably also not scratch resistant. Pretty sure it doesn't have an IP rating. I'm also not sure what the screen type is.

Alldocube X has an AMOLED screen, but is now out of your price range.
At launch it was discounted, but it's now like $350.
I don't own this one so I can't comment on root.

EDIT: It's far out of your price range, but I also have a Mi Pad 4 Plus. I would very much not recommend it.
I'm still hesitant to recommend anything from Xiaomi due to various ridiculous policies.
If it's Android One it's probably not bad, but anything that isn't I would avoid.
Do you not have anything else to do rather than argue with strangers on the internet
Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.

I've got the Amazon fire HD 7, works a treat but I wish I had of went for the HD 10" bigger is better (Kindle, HD, rugged, hackable for playstore ). All kinds of kid cases available for these. I'm running Kodi on it.

You want to spend your time screwing around with configuring a tablet, or just turn one on for some fun? Just saw this Utube on the new update of the 7"
