Where can I watch current movies in true IMAX? I hear Scotiabank Theater is being redeveloped as well.

This sucks, I go to the theatres at least once a month, now I'll have to go to Richmond Hill to catch a flick with decent picture quality.
Cineplex Mississauga is the only other true IMAX screen then, other than the Cinesphere.

Seems like it would be a big loss for vaughan residents, the area has quite a few restaurants and shops, including costco and golftown. What's the point of living in one of these new condos if there is nowhere to go.

Well they're all close to the new subway stop, so, go to Downtown Toronto I guess? Face With Tears Of Joy

I still remember when that spot was a Drive-in theater. Many fun times there.

RH cineplex needs a major renovation...the seats are old and uncomfortable.

and no word that cineplex plans to replace either of them. Maybe it's just not profitable to maintain either of these complexes.

Must be business is not good in those locations.

The Scotiabank one downtown was more of a value based on location thing given the size of the theatre and the prime location, still a ton in reasonable distance from where I am and from my workplace (I used to walk to Scotia on some Fridays though).

Cineplex doesn't even WANT to be in the business anymore. They were trying to sell to Cineworld but then the pandemic hit and it messed everything up! lol
They got rich quick over a sale that never happened... lol (I still think they want out though...)

Well if tearing it all down includes the Costco, then I'm left scratching my head a bit. That Costco is always insane. But I can't speak for the rest of the businesses in that area, so maybe a crazy Costco isn't enough to save that huge area from redevelopment.
Kind of like the Ikea commercial area just east of it. The Ikea is always hopping, but the rest of that area is a wasteland.

That area is pretty ghetto. The restaurants aren’t that busy. Those movie theatre crowd is odd. One time a guy bump me just to grab some bbq chicken at that Costco. The ghettonization is real, the ghettos are moving upwards from steeles ave.

It's also possible Costco might legit want out from there.
That Costco is one the first "Price Club"'s to show up in Toronto, so the building is no spring chicken.
It's kinda cool - if memory serves me correct, if you look above the main door (while leaving), you can still see a silhouette of the Price Club logo.

Maybe they have plans to open up something new within vicinity, including a gas bar?
The uncertainty of the far future with that land/lease could be why they never installed a gas bar, which is obviously very popular for Costco members.

By gas bar do you mean gas pumps? That Costco has had them for a while now, same style as most other Costco's.

It does? I honestly couldn't remember.
Did a quick lazy Google search for Costco gas, and it did not pop up.
I very rarely go to that Costco these day.

If we're talking about the Weston/7 Costco yes, it has gas pumps, propane, and a tire service center.
By not going to Costco you're missing out on the best thing - those cheap hot dog and pop combos Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Smiling Eyes

Oh... I go to Costco - just not that one.
I'm mostly Etobicoke, Mississauga East, Yorkdale, and the rare Trek to business centre.

Man - I miss the food court. Just isn't the same having to bring the dog and drink to the car.

I don't think I've seen a movie in the spaceship since around the time it opened, lol.

They are apparently opened them again, but Mississauga had some bylaw preventing that. But I believe the council changed that today, so time for a trip to the food court!
