I know it sounds ridiculous! Perhaps its a joke. Tongue in cheek. Possibly serious?

But if you read rfd real estate forums long enough… you’ll bump into it.

“Hey guys! A tenant hasnt paid rent in 6 months… he just smashed a window and told me to eff off… what do i do?”

“Beat him up!!!”

“Make a call to ‘cousin vinny’ if you know what i’m saying…”

“Baseball bat works!”

“A friend of a friend of mine… just calls some “boys”… they handle it pretty quick”


Anyone ever actually do this?

I have never seen such a thing maybe they are joking? I feel most of the landlords are more likely to be hurt by violent tenants. The law is simply ridiculous. It’s bizarre to me that people don’t have to pay rent and get no consequences. If you don’t pay your rent for any good reason to me that is like theft and you should face charges. I completely understand if you lost your job but just being a jerk and not paying is ridiculous and should be a crime. They should be put in jail if they purposely don’t pay rent just bc they are being a dick like some of the professional tenants that exist. This is why some are turned off from owning property. Why should people be allowed to stay somewhere for free? It’s like there is a legitimization where its ok for tenants to not pay and some belief that landlords are evil so they deserve it or “investing is a risk so deal with it.” How about they deal with people who wrongfully refuse to pay rent.
