Lot price increases in Calgary SE new community despite low sale
Received an email from a home builder for the limited time discount on lot for quick possession houses in Legacy community in Calgary. They are giving 10% discount in lot. Initially I thought it was a great deal. Then I did some math and something's not right. So after 10% discount for the lot, the house price goes from $634,999 to $609,999, a $25,089 discount, which means the lot price is $250,890. But the issue is, when I checked on this lot back in July 2018, the lot price was $227,000. So comparing to the lot price in July last year, the buyer will only save $1200!!!
I don't quite understand this. The overall house sale is bad in Calgary, why the city, or the development company, keeps increasing lot price?
