I always thought the Evora was very bland, this is actually gorgeous and will probably price at 85-100K CAD depending model spec.

I still want an Exige 🤤

Car looks awesome. I was expecting electric TBH but apparently they do have a different car (the Evija) which will be electric.

As for the engines yeah would definitely take the AMG 4cyl. Why would they even bother offering the Toyblowta one? Yeah yeah I know they have been using that in other cars but you know when it's Toyblowta the "400hp" is more like 312 of anyone else's hp, and this isn't a RAV4 here its a sports car so no time for that nonsense. Actually I'm sure the Lotuses with the engine might be fine but put it in a Toyblowta and I'm sure it's going as fast as a similar weight car with 100hp less lol. Don't trust them.

Anyway more importantly...what the heck ever happened to Jenson Button? Once a fierce competitor for Sir Hamilton, later never heard from until now...featured in YT videos advertising a Lotus. I mean the latter is not really bad in any way but you know what I mean.

In UK, it starts at £4000 more than a fully loaded Supra.

My guess it'll be Cayman prices in comparison. $80K-$120K.

Don't believe in direct conversion. A Supra 3.0 would have cost $96K CAD as well if you direct convert. This is a volume seller and direct competitor is 718.

UK price also include 20% VAT. So you cannot do direct conversion.

Interior big upgrade over the Evora. Has supercar looks, if I was in the market for a Cayman, this would get a serious consideration from me. Only issues is I don't know of any independent mechanics that work on Lotus and how hard it is to get parts on this.

Ah so I guess he followed in the footsteps of Martin Brundle and David Couthard. Brundle was never knighted though--maybe he was involved in shenanigans in his youth or something lol. Then again he was never F1WC either. Oh and Damon Hill too, can't forget about him. And he's OBE too, one up on the MBE guys haha.

I stopped watching F1 many years ago--by the time Button had won the championship I was already an on/off casual viewer, not long after I kind of lost interest. Tried to get back into it and even pondered those subscription deals when they have come up but never did. When I was young I would almost never miss a race--up early nearly on those race Sundays to watch. Those were the days. Now I barely know anything about the regs, the cars, the teams, or drivers...

Damn, I'm def interested.

Need a car that can be driven year round, and this seems to be a good fit.

Not trying to be snobbish, but as good as that engine is, I just couldn't pay 100k for a 4-cylinder turbo. It's like the new AMG 63 with a hybrid 4-cylinder turbo, just doesn't seem right.

Isn't a sports car supposed to handle as well as be fast. If the lower HP motor allows you actually USE almost every gear on the street with the nanny options off. Enjoy the power curve without going above, go directly to jail speeds, by the time you hit 2rd gear. It might not be such a bad thing. Especially since the Toyota motor will probably last longer. Now if you wanna track the car totally different maybe. But then why not let your team owner buy it add all the high HP mods possible and you just show up with your gloves and helmet to give a it rip during race weekends. Then again if you are good enough to have a drive like that you probably are not going to waste it in a Lotus LOL.

As for Jenson he has been extremely active and around. Competing in Triathlons, owning a racing team, working in TV and now has rejoined Williams...

You don’t need to be a race car driver to drive on a track. Winking Face But I also prefer less power for a street car. Track use it all depends on how fat your wallet is.

While true, you don't have to be a race car driver to drive on a track... Trouble is unless you can afford to rent the track for yourself to enjoy alone. Once you are out there, you are surrounded by RACE CAR DRIVERS who either are or are not either. They paid their money too so you get to take your chances as to whether they know which one they are and drive. So they do not get dangerously behind on their braking or ahead on their steering while you are in the vicinity.

Ironically which is the same as on the street a lot of the time. LOL

Would look to pick one up used in a few years, one of the most gorgeous looking car. I will take this over a Porsche Cayman but probably not over a 911 Carrera 4S.

This car is super sweet looking. Would have loved to entertain as my new car, but instead I went with a 2+2, in case I needed the back seats.

~$70k pounds.

Unfortunate but seems like that's the future we are heading towards.

And as we loses ICE, good luck getting sport cars to stay light.
