[Lowe's] CRAFTSMAN 164 Piece Mechanics Tool Set - $35.80 (YMMV)

Edit:
This is from @MMMM Showed $71 on clearance on the shelf, but scanned for $36.

If you do need one but non at $36, maybe go to a store and scan to test the price.

Plz report if this has been verified.

****************
Original price $179. This is cheaper than I bought it about one year ago at $52. Must resist to buy another set.

Check Stocktrack. Not every store has this price. YMMV

Pretty good set for $38, even if you're just going to throw it in the back of the truck for those just-in-case moments. Nothing in GVR unfortunately.

Good price at $40ish. Though I am curious - none of the descriptions on Lowes or other sites mention the 1/2" drive ratchet, or the 12 wrenches shown (description says only 8), so I'm curious if the photo is wrong.

Edit: I also counted 94 sockets, and it says you get 80.

Still a great emergency set.

Who bought the Craftsman trademark?

Edit: google is my friend:
'Stanley Black & Decker acquired the Craftsman tool brand from Sears for about $900 million, the companies announced Thursday.Mar. 7, 2019'
Xphile. (as in 'X-files aficionado'..so yeah, I guess I am old..)

Great! Only wanted one and someone most likely cleared out all 6-7 units

I ordered one set and picked up at store.

Here is what I found so far:

the product picture is actually same as the CRAFTSMAN 197 Mechanics Tool Set (Item#: 993784 MFR#: CMMT45197), but unrelated to the 164 Mechanics Tool Set (Item#: 993785MFR#: CMMT45164).

Since the CRAFTSMAN 197 Mechanics Tool Set is sold at price $149.00 at the moment, the original price for the 164 Mechanics Tool Set (993785MFR#: CMMT45164, only 1/4-In and 3/8-In Drive Ratchets included) seems to be over priced. But for around $40, the set is pretty good if you need one.

Because Lowe’s is wrong. See other posts. The description list is correct but the photo is not.
