Why would I take this over the bosch 18v 181 drill with 2 batteries for $100?

I finally unpacked my drills and 1 was a different drill. It was a ratchet drill! Oh well... Still keeping it. Now have 3-14.4v, 3-18v, and 2-12v... All dewalt. The 12volts are great for small and hard to get too places. Very light to hold.

Thanks OP. Ended up buying one for $74 taxes in. Probably don't even need it after getting the Porter Cable Drill/Impact driver combo kit a few days ago...dang RDF!

Would I be able to use this to fix up a deck or is 12V not powerful enough for that sort of job?

These do not have Chucks. Only good for 1/4" bits.

12v tools from the name brands should be able to build a deck (I say should cause I could with miwaukee m12s), but this 12v tool in particular isn't for that. This is a screwdriver and is more targeted to cabinet installers and electricians.

If you are building a deck you want a Drill/Driver at a minimum, but it is better to get a combo with an Impact Driver included.

Not comparable, different tools for different applications. See my previous post.

Didn't the ridgid 12V impact went for something like $30.00 a while ago? A 12V impact driver can do everything this "screwdriver" does and much more. weight is probably the same.

Obviously this deal is not the hottest at rfd, but if you do small jobs like installation, it's lighter than a impact driver or a regular drill with heavy head. That's the reason I got one.
