[Lowe's] Dyson v10 (Animal) 499.97 (no tax)

Was looking to pull the trigger on one of the Dyson v10 deals sold on Dyson.ca, another at Best buy and finally at Canadian tire. Went on a whim to check Lowe's saw that they had a "SAVETAX" coupon, and it surprisingly worked. Yay.

Thanks to fellow commentor for Alberta's promo code: "SAVETAXAB"

EDIT: was able to call the store and check my spot in queue with my Order Reference Number. Picked up my vacuum 3 hours before confirmation email was sent to me.

It's too bad it can't be applied to the V11. This only works on the V10

Damn. I've been eyeing the v11 for quite some time. Not sure if I should pull the trigger on the v10...

That is an amazing deal. Really tempted to do an upgrade from my V8.

I just did the V8 > V10 Animal upgrade and I am extremely happy with it.

the low setting on the V10 is sufficient for our daily vacuum and lasts us 40 minutes on a charge.
the largest dust bin is also very nice
the new brush head with the ability to pick up large items is a great improvement.
the max power suction is awesome

I'm weighing whether the V11 Absolute+ is worth the extra $350 over the V10 Animal. We have mostly hardwood and tile in the house, so the soft roller head included with the V11 Absolute+ would be appealing. From what I understand:

V11:
+ Digital display showing time remaining
+ Includes soft roller attachment
+ Includes both wall mounted and standalone docks
+ Longer run time
+ Greater suction power (?)
- Significantly more expensive, almost double!
- Who knows when it will arrive from Dyson

V10
+ Significantly lower price
+ Instant availability (via Lowes, BB, whomever)
+ Includes most of the attachments we need
- No standalone dock, only wall mounted
- No soft roller attachment
- Shorter run time, lower suction power
- No digital display to show time remaining on charge

Did I miss anything?

Great deal (not counting the price error last year).

Anyone know whether the extra tools with the Costco version is worth it/necessary?

Is this working for anyone else's in Alberta (Calgary specifically)?

Code applies for me, but there isn't an additional discount to the $200.00 savings.

EDIT: I tested it, and looks like it works for Ontario. This is YMMV.

The accessories alone in costco version is worth the GST.

I believe the Costco version is not the v10 animal. Might want to take that into consideration

I'm in Calgary, I get the $200 off but the "SAVETAX" code does not work for me.

It appears the differences are the dust bin size and accessories it comes with.

Absolute: The Dyson V10 Absolute includes the most accessories and has the larger dustbin.
Animal: The Dyson V10 Animal includes almost all of the same accessories as the Absolute and has the same sized dust bin.
Motorhead: The Dyson V10 Motorhead has only basic accessories, and a slightly smaller dust bin.

Costco version has 0.76L dust bin volume, so same as the Animal/Aboslute. Comparing the specs/details, I found that Costco version has these extra items:
  • Flexi crevice tool
  • Extension hose
  • Up top tool
  • Tool bag

Alberta uses SAVETAXAB (you get additional tax savings too!)
