[Lowe's] Gilmour 4-Way hose faucet "Splitter" $7.99 Reg $40.00 YMMV

For those of you that got into the HOSE DEALS, you might need a splitter:

https://www.lowes.ca/product/water-shut ... off-888887

YMMV as some stores are showing $39.99

Until they fix STOCKTRACK.CA for Lowe's, you'll need to change Stores until you see Stock and the Discounted price.

Good deal if you need one. I can't imagine the pressure being great if you run four hoses at once.

Good deal if you can find one, didn't see any kicking around lower mainland stores though.

I need one. Unfortunately I had left the Brantford store that has 20+ instock and is 50km away from my home before I read this post. :(

Do you need to have all 4 connected? Can you leave 2 open?

You can have 1 to 4 connected all at the same time. Then depending on which hoses you want active you open the valves (the black switches on the top of the hose connection) to those hoses. If you only want to use 2 the black valves would stay closed on those connections.

Not sure I'd ever use 4, but too many is better than too few if it doesn't leak.
Yup that’s my worry. Like you have all 4 connected, it leaks big deal. But if you open the main valve but then the open connections leak.

Just came back from Lowes Brantford that's supposed to have 24, but they couldn't find them. Must be in one of the boxes overhead, but came out empty handed.

These have plastic valve knobs that get destroyed by sunlight or break when the valve ball gets hard to turn.
I bought ones that have brass knobs, a bit more expensive

These things are garbage. The knobs stop working since they are plastic and the collar will start to leak even if it's indoors.

I went through 2 of them same crap.

I guess at 8 bucks it might be worth picking up. Expected only 1-2 seasons out of each

Anyone who bought one, maybe you could at least avoid the sun issue by having the valve knobs on the bottom?

I haven't had significant issues that way.
I think I'm on my second, and the latest has been in use probably 10 years.
It's outdoors.

It is quite handy.
One goes to a hose reel.
One to a short hose for filling watering cans, without holding them mid air.
The third(and 4th) have no connection, just for when that is desired such as washing hands.
I never totally rely on the valves when not in use, and shut off the supply.

I sure wouldn't call them garbage, and at $8 it is a steal, if you can find one.

It may just be for the convenience of not having to disconnect and reconnect all the time.

My experience with those is that the plastic valve handles (?) get brittle after a few winters and can break off. I have an all-metal one at home and so far it's doing pretty good. But I've never had to use more than two at the same time anyway.

These are handy at events where you can bring a camper and there are limited water spouts.
