The reviews are mostly "part of a promotion". Seems like it's not the most accurate, but it is a 100 dollar mitre saw. I imagine it would be fine for the occasional bird house or shelving project.

I have one. It's great for trimwork and any small lumber. Also used it to cut metal fenceposts.

As a contractor it's an important part of my arsenal

Good saw
Don't rush to buy, goes on sale for $99 or $89 frequently. Very rarely even for $79
In Japan, the hand can be used like a knife.
But this method doesn't work with a tomato...

I bought this saw last promo two weeks ago. Did whole basement trims with it, works well enough!

What’s a good stand and price to go along with this saw?

A good stand will cost more than the saw. I'd just use a Workmate.

I didn't know 7-1/4 was a thing for mitre saw
Does it take a regular circular saw blade?

Price $99.50
You Save $99.50 until Apr 17, 2019
Was $199.00

Weird how it's normally 150 for you.

I also have one. Did trim work and cut 2x4s and even railings... No issues and it's super light. Hated pulling out my bigger mitre saw.

The Kobalt brand is going away in favour of Craftsman, so this is a promo to unload existing inventory. A saw may come back with a Craftsman name, but this saw won't.

Interesting.
Odd that on clearance it costs more then other sales on the same item.

Yes it does and blades are a lot cheaper than 10 or 12 inch too.

I have it too. Other than the size of the blade for cutting thicker wood (or just use a skillsaw), perhaps the lever for adjusting the angle is made of plastic so it is not as durable as metal
