[Lowe's] Kobalt 80-Volt 22-in Single-Stage Cordless Electric Snow Blower $280 (regular $700) YMMV

The Lowes at the Boardwalk in Cambridge Ontario had 2 remaining Kobalt 80-Volt Max 22-in Single-Stage Push Cordless Electric Snow Blowers for 60% off as of a few hours ago. Looks like they're being discontinued. You can't call and have them hold it for you, you'll have to go into the store to get it. Most of the negative reviews on the Lowes website are because the skid plates weren't present in some of the boxes. I haven't opened up mine yet but even if it isn't you can get them sent under warranty (as per a reply from the manufacturer in one of the reviews).

Here's a video of it in action here:

I got similar snow blower at factory direct few years ago it comes and goes on sale time to time anywhere from 100 to 150.. So comparatively 280 kind of steep.. The cord is a real pain too..

This is the 80V cordless version, so $280 is cheap.

If there is something cordless that I would not buy it's a cordless snow thrower... How long a battery lasts throwing a tiny 10 cm if wet and heavy snow?

I wonder if this has anything to do with Lowe's bringing in the Ego brand.

Homedepot.ca has nothing but an ego chainsaw and gloves avail. line.

I have the ego snow blower and it works great. There’s also the new toro that came out last year and it’s even better. Plenty of reviews online showing how good they are.

Great blower, I bought it for nearly 600 at the beginning of November and it handled this winter well.

Been using this 80V for about four years. Battery still performs well with most snowstorms on a single charge. But can be recharged in 20 minutes if required. I would compare the performance to a corded Toro I previously owned and perfect for city sized lots.

This Kobalt blower is a rebranded Greenworks 80V 22" cordless. It's the competition for the Ego 56v and Toro 60v cordless.

About the same performance as 5hp gas powered single stage Toro. Greenworks also has a commercial version of this same blower for contractors, so it tells about the performance level offered

Kobalt 80V batteries are *not* directly interchangeable with Greenworks 80V packs. There's youtube videos that show you how to modify greenworks battery packs to fit in Kobalt tools

Here's the machine in deep snow (12") and then going through a snowplow wind row as high as your knee (20-24")

I don't have this model, but I have a 80v Kobalt and it works great in any kind of snow. Because its a Lowe's house brand, they are generous with the return policy. I had an issue with the first one I bought, 2 months after purchase they replaced it. the only thing negative I can say is I'm not happy with Lowes' canada dropping its 80v line - I was planning on getting a 80v Kobalt mower this summer to keep the battery in kind. I got an ego instead.

What they told you on the phone was not true.
Lowes in Burlington had 4-5 boxes this morning (10AM) on the floor, marked down to $280.
If anyone picks one up, please update the stock level.

Thanks for update. They probably meant Ottawa. Can confirm Kanata store has none.
