Was able to buy one with free shipping to quebec, thanks. Reviews are not that great but for 115$ I'll try.

Those with compressor experience, is 81 dB (what this outputs) considered loud?

Looks like a good deal on a compressor but I already have a working and heavy 16-y-o unit, otherwise I'd buy it if I'm in the market for one. Shows $115 in 3 Ottawa stores and $137 in Kanata.

This is from a review with measured loudness:
I own another well known dark green compressor that is sold as a 60 DB quiet compressor. Using a DB meter app standing next to both compressors the quiet compressor measured 68db while the Hitachi measured 70db.
Hitachi really missed the boat by not touting this compressors quietness.

it's on the loud side, but I feel OK with a 82dB air compressor. oil-free motors are loud in general.

This seems to be an oil compressor though, as per the Lowe's site.

"The EC99S twin stack compressor features an oil-lubricated cast iron pump and 15 Amp direct-drive induction motor for long life."

Nonetheless, thanks for the answer.

Just noticed this draws 15 amps... kills it for me at home. Pancake compressor it is at around 2 amps.

both poter cable and dewalt pancake air compressor draw 10 amps of current, and Dewalt describes it as "The low 10 amp draw motor" which pancake compressor is at around 2 amps?

I’m just gonna get 2 gallon for small trim jobs and tires... all less than 1Hp motors I’ve looked at. Should be enough for my needs.

Correct me if I’m wrong but you would basically need a dedicated circuit for this correct?

Is it just the sound while its filling up? I wouldnt worry too much about that, should fill up in a couple of minutes.
