If your yard is huge, you might wanna do the sign up email at Rona so you will save $10 when you spend $50 (in other words, buy 50 bags for $40)

If you're buying this much, consider that even with this sale it's still cheaper to buy topsoil in bulk from landscaping companies.

This would cost you $30/yard, vs ~$20 from a landscape companies. So if you really need a lot, this probably wouldn't be worth it.

But for smaller jobs it's great. Since it's bagged it's actually easier to move around and put exactly where you want it before opening. Less shoveling from a big pile into a wheelbarrow.

I think in this quantity, the delivery fee for by-the-truck would be higher than the material cost.

Around here a yard of triple mix is $150 delivered. This isn't triple mix (is it?) so definitely a lot cheaper to pick up at Lowes. Time to load up the suv and test the springs Smiling Face With Open Mouth

Triple mix is peat moss, compost and top soil. OPs is black earth, a little different.

The bulk of that $150 is delivery fee. Getting a yard delivered isn't very much soil, hence the relatively expensive cost compared to buying 30 bags.

Is it good as a topsoil layer for overseeding?

Unless you can transport yourself. This is cheaper. Even then the extra effort isn't worth it.

This is NOT $1 everywhere. Just looked at a Rona flyer for here in Regina and it has the Voila Black Earth on sale for $2 starting on the 19th.

Black earth is next to useless. Its not top soil. Mostly only good for some landscaping, not for growing plants.

This soil is hit or miss. Most of the time, the soil is mixed with wood chips and small pebbles so buyer beware. It's not the greatest for dressing your lawn but ok for gardens and plants.

This is Red flag deals it's about saving money. Saying the extra effort isn't worth it is the craziest thing I've read so far.

If you have a pickup it's 100% worth going and getting a yard dropped in the back of it and taking it home yourself

I thought the coupon didn't work on sale items, just on regular priced ones.
