[Lowe's] Scotts 10 kg EZ Melt- ICE Melter - clearance $6.17 (was 11.99)

10 kg bags on clearance. Get ready for next year. Lots of inventory at the New Westminster, BC location (not a lot of ice this year), along with Calgary locations etc.

Other stores that have end of season stock, like Canadian Tire, have it for $12.99
Don't buy it if you don't need it.

Ordered 3 bags online in January of the Sifto Safe Step Xtreme Ice Melter (20kg) $5.98 from Home Depot.

Went to pickup and yhey pushed out three bags ... the bag at the bottom was literally busted open.

Guy went back inside ... and came out with two bags ... said that they were the last two bags ... both opened ...

So I ended up with 4 bags for the price of 3. Not bad! Of the 4 bags only one was not ripped ... the three ripped bags ... one was totally ripped .. two had tears in them ...

Couldn't beat that price for a 20kg bag ...

I normally use Alaskan for the front steps.

Used the Alaskan + regular road salt mixture for the driveway.

The sidewalk just the cheapest available regular road salt (don't care if it kills the cement ... it's not my problem).

Never bothered with salting the section of the driveway between the sidewalk and road.

When I shovel ... I shovel the snow from the entire driveway on to that section of grass between the sidewalk and road. All road salt gets deposited there.
