[Lowe's] Snow Joe 80 Volt 24 inch Dual Stage Snowblower $439.60

Was in Lowe’s in Windsor today and saw this snowblower for 439.60. There were 5 left when I was there.

No longer on the Lowe’s site but here is the manufacturer site: https://www.snowjoe.com/products/snow-j ... rt-charger

Did a quick search and couldn’t find anything.

Recently sold my ego snowblower as I moved into an apartment, but was very impressed with the power of the ego battery powered blower.

Holy crap thats a good deal, I bought mine for $800. Its a really good machine and found it comparable to an old 208cc snow thrower I used to own. Its biggest downside it that it is too light, on harder packed snow it has a tendancy to drive over top of it. You can push down on the handles and make your way through the snow but it my take an extra pass or two.

Of course its battery electric so if you have a large driveway this probably wont work too well. It will plow through "packing" snow 24" deep easily but when there is that much snow the batteries last long enough to get my car out but not much more. When its a more normal 2-3" of snow I can do my double car driveway and some of my back yard. The charger takes 4+ hours so you cant recharge quickly if the batteries die before you get your car out.

It fits my requirements perfectly and I love it. You just slap in the batteries and you are good to go, I can clear the driveway and not wake up my wife in our bedroom above our garage. I plan on wiring up a pair of heated morotcycle gloves and powering them off the batteries which will be so nice.

Ahh, definitely less worth it then. I didn't look that closely as I was looking for the Kobalt 80v.

Is this worth it without batteries and charger?

Short answer, only if you already have the necessary batteries and charger. The 8024 (the one I have, at least) came with 2x iBAT40XRP which HomeDepot.ca has at $346/ea. The charger is iCHRG40-DPC which is another $92. The discount isn't high enough to cover the regular prices of these items to even break even on the purchase, looks like.

Regularly $848 at HomeDepot.ca without batteries, $1218 with batteries. The SB (vs SB-CT) should include batteries which makes that a killer deal.

Different model vs OP and not 2 stage, but CR rated this one higher than the 2 stage 8024 due primarily to the higher voltage batteries, apparently just offers more oomph for moving piles of snow. That said, I think either would be fine for most snowfalls of less than a foot as long as you get at the plow pack before it freezes solid.

This is definitely the better deal of the two being discussed if the 8024 doesn't include batteries for the price and this one does.
