I still kick myself for not picking this up at my local Independent Grocer (Loblaws) when it was clearanced for $299. Thought it would be too small.

Is this a good BBQ? Looking for one with a side burner and was thinking of just getting one of those Nexxgrill ones for $300 (or maybe it was $400) and then replace it after 5 years or whenever it breaks down and the warranty craps out (5 year warranty I think). However, RFDers keep mentioning to just pay a little extra to get a Weber bc they last forever (10+ years) which would technically be cheaper in the long run than buying 2 Nexxgrill ones.

A cheaper grill like Nexxgrill is fine if your expectations are only 5 years. After that you will likely run into issues but if cleaned and stored well you might get a few more years out with just replacing the grates. napoleon and Weber grills are built with better quality parts and will outlast something like Nexxgrill or Charbroil by nearly double. It's really only worth it if you can get one at a good price. Also if you are a bit of a grill snob you will find the higher end models or napoleon/Weber have much better even heat and cook much more consistently. But you will need to spend $$$ on the better models. I suggest searching locally and paying close attention to materials and quality of floor models. If you have a truck or large SUV ever a cheaper name brand makes a decent model from time to time and floor model deal could be easy way to get a good grill

I managed to snag the Spirit II E-210 NG for $249 a year ago. Couldn't pass on it. Those were crazy deals.
