M sticker on non-M BMW, how much boost in performance?

Saw 2 'regular' BMWs 331i and 535xi on my short 15-min ride home yesterday with M stickers on them. I figured it's getting common now?

I have 3 scenarios:

1. Trying to fool people without car/BMW knowledge. - People without car/BMW knowledge would not know anything about M or non-M anyways. Can't fool people who don't care.
2, Trying to fool people with more or less car/BMW knowledge. - For the majority of us here, already know what M cars should look like, these stickers can't fool us.

That leaves us to the last and only viable scenario #3.
3. SELF FOOL - all I can say is, congratulations, your car is now boosted by 2-3 times the HP to the level of an M car, yet keeping the same Fuel economy of a regular BMW.

You sure it's not the M-sport package that BMW makes available to pretty much every model?

They come with m-sport badging, location and size of badge differs by model

Eg the M235i has the M badge on the trunk and front fender

You get the M badge without having to shell out for an actual M2

The "M" means Mega Money for the Mechanics who get to fix those heaps. Could also mean "Mark", as in, the owner of said car is "Marked" for his bill to be twice as high per hour with lots of extra services (such as blinker fluid replacement) indicated.
