MAc Apple burner incompatible with Amazonbasics DVD+R blank discs?

I haven't tried this in a long while but I tried burning a blank disc twice and got this error message:" the dis can't be burned because na unexpected error occurred (error code 0x8002006E)".

I'm using Mac OS HIgh Sierra v 10.13.6 2.7 Intel Core I5 (mid 2011), so the burner is built into the side of the Mac.

Is it a compatibility issue? I remember these discs work with the external burner at work.
Any solutions? Kinda disappointed since I have ~100 of these discs.
Thanks.

Have you tried giving the lens a cleaning using one of those cleaning kit CDs? They actually work. I have one that has revived a failing optical drive for me several times, including one in my 2009 iMac.
