Making a business charitable organazation

We run a licensed daycare in Ontario, we have many families that receive child subsidy from the city but at the same time we have many that are not eligible because they gross income is over the set limit.
Most of those families are still not able to pay fully for full day daycare, with all the raising living costs and what not.
We had someone who is very wealthy in the community approach us and offered to subsidies those families out of their own pocket, the only caveat is they want to receive a donation receipt for any money they pay to subsidies those families.

Is that something that can be done? can a company be switched to a charitable donation?
