mandatory swim cap ?

lol odd question but I'm gonna take adult swimming lessons in Ontario

I remember somewhere caps were mandatory but was wondering if that's the case ..forgot to ask the school and they're closed for the weekend and really want to know lmao

Depends on the pool's rules if they want to protect pumps and filters from clogging. There's no law in Ontario requiring caps AFAIK and I would seriously doubt that one would exist.
I always upvote respectful/helpful posts wherever I encounter them.

I wouldn't be surprised if pools just want people with long hair to wear caps. As the above says, to protect pumps and filters from clogging.

I don't believe there is a law, but private facilities can make it a requirement to protects the pumps and filters. Some of the really good caps also helps protect the hair a bit so there is that.

There was no requirement when I took my swimming classes via the city of Toronto in 2018. Some women in the class wore them to protect their hair from the chlorine, some didn't.

I've never heard of this "rule" TBH

there's no rule for my son's program which is in a school.

Only country where it seems to be a rule is Italy. I wear one for lake swimming as it keeps my head warm.
