Manulife Now Offering Cashable 6 Month GIC 2.25%, 100k max.

This may be a repost, searched and I could not find it.

Received an email on Oct. 15 & a phone call today from Manulife offering a cashable 6 month term at 2.25% because their special high rate HISA is ending soon. Offer ends Nov.5.
If cashed early rate drops to 1.25% plus there is a $25.00 fee.

I think Manulife will have to do better than that to prevent a huge exodus of funds as their 6-month interest rate promo expires.

I totally agree.
I mentioned to cs person,Dave, that I would consider it but off the top of my head there were better rates in the marketplace.

I wonder if this offer is targeted?

May try to see if Manulife will match B2B bank.
You do not ask, you do not get.
Worth a phone call.

Please report back. I also got a voicemail from Manulife yesterday but haven't returned the call. Considering what to do once promo interest rate expires at the end of the month.

If nothing else better comes along, I will probably use EQ Bank for my savings at 2.3%.

I've started the process of opening accounts with Motive at 2.8% - since it can apparently take some time to get them operational, I decided to get a head start (got about a month before my Manulife promo expires).
