Do folks consider a Microsoft Surface Pro for $450 + tax a good deal?

i5 8250u
8GB RAM
128GB SSD

Serious question, as I've never owned or seriously researched the Surface line.

This feels way more expensive than $450 justifies.

There are a large number of updates, and some updates for this device that are a mix of firmware and software.

This is no revelation, but just like the Google Pixel from Google, having a Microsoft Tablet probably endows one with the best and most up to date in both OS software and compatible firmware updates.

What a sleek device, I'm an idiot for not getting one sooner.

Almost certainly not.

To that point, if the seller had said 4GB RAM, I would've peace'd out even at $450. At 8GB, it's good enough for portable computing when I'm on the go.

My main workstation is also my main portable device, the Dell Inspiron 5505 Ryzen 4700U laptop.

My convenient ultraportable solution is now this Surface Pro. Just very pleased overall.
