Maybe that auto shows are no more 'in'?

Case in evidence; Montreal Auto Show 2023. I usually go there every 2-3 years, last one that happened was in 2020. In the past that a few minor brands were not represented. but this year, what a decline! No Ford/Lincoln, No Chrysler/Dodge/Ram/Jeep/Alfa/Maserati, no Mazda, no Honda/Acura, no Infiniti, no VW/Audi, Mitsubishi, no Volvo/Polestar, no BMW, no Porsche, no Mercedes, no Bentley/RR (last time there were like 10), no Aston Martin, no Jags, no Genesis.... manufacturers are no more interested? One reason might be that they don't have stock, yet....

On a more positive note, some exhibitions were A1. It is rare to see a Ferrari Enzo, together with F40 and F50, also two Bugatti Chirons and other multi-$M Ferrari. I sat in a Hummer (didn't know they had targa roofs available), CT4/5-V BW. The Z06 is supposed to be there but I missed it. The 2024 Lotus Emira looks great and relatively affordable.

Most of the cars that arrived in montreal for the show ended up at the ports so they didnt have anything to showcase.

While supply chain issues persist, there's no point wasting money marketing through auto shows. It's a huge expense. The same is happening with motorcycle shows, all are being canceled.

I thought Stellantis was going to show at Montreal but dealers are paying, not OEM. Guess dealers don't want to pay the bill.

Calgary auto show is cancelled due to no show.

And given how the media landscape is now, I think auto show will be a thing of the past. Everyone will just follow their favorite influencer and show up at dealership instead of cross shopping at autoshows.

I don't think that it is the real reason. Toyota/Nissan/Subaru/Hyundai/Kia has many vehicles but no Honda/Mazda. As an example, the Kia Telluride and RAV4 Prime are hot tickets/back ordered and still were present to this show.... there is something else...... more and more carmakers don't see them as profitable.

*Blame internet*.

No point, car became so scarce.

Either no stock or price out nuts for what they are.

Auto show used to be car window shopping for me, But if you know you not gonna buy, there is no more fun to look.

I just bought a new jetta coz I need to, otherwise never step in dealership for 3 years. The Ford Maverick I want to try are not available even for test drive, what's point.

What manufacturers are going to be in/out of the Toronto auto show?

You don't need an auto show when majority of buyers want to drive bland CUV's and the brainwashed soccermom's demanding more of them.

All of the German brands are out. Honda/Acura, Mazda, Ford are also not attending.
