McAfee Security - worth it?

Bought a new computer - McAfee security came with a 30 days trial offer that is expiring today. Is it worth keeping it ? What other alternatives could you suggest? Is Windows Defender sufficient?
I am noob, so any advice would be appreciated. TIA

As a technician with over 20 years experience. McAfee has been one of the worst products I've run into in terms of failing/causing random issues/slowing pcs down. I would avoid.

pack it up everyone this thread was solved in post #2. Third party real time AV hasn't been necessary for years now

Windows Defender is enough.

May be add Malwarebyte to provide extra layer.

Windows defender is enought, especialy if you use the controled acess folder option. If you learn to use it it will protect you from ransomwares.
