McCafe mocha: powdery and not mixed?

I haven't noticed this with Starbucks drinks but yet I notice this with McCafe drinks all the time.

For example, their mocha. Somehow all the cocoa powder sits at the bottom and chokes you unless you shake and mix the drink.

I have no idea why this happens as the powder should dissolve or mix itself as the steamed milk is poured over. Again, it doesn't happen with Starbucks drinks.

Does anyone know why this happens?

McDonald's is too lazy to mix the drink

McDonald's uses Ghirardelli chocolate syrup. You can see the syrup coming coming out of the machine. The machine itself does chocolate, espresso and milk. With the mocha, the chocolate is dispensed first, hence why it's at the bottom, then the espresso and milk. McDonald's doesn't mix the drink (and neither does Starbucks or most places) which is why the chocolate stays at the bottom. You have to mix it yourself.

I got my last one (for the $2 promo) today and saw the employee stir it. So maybe it depends on the employee
