I honestly thought based on the title of this thread that McD is giving free big mac to residents of YMM..

this support will be very helpful and much needed as well..

People could be doing both? Some people may need to decide on where to go for lunch. This + $1 drink days, easy choice.

It's to get people to buy more big macs. The more big macs they buy, the more they donate. Marketing 101, it helps McD's and it helps the Red Cross. Win-win.

Since it seems like you don't really know - many corporations have donated money to the victims. For example, Canadian Tire owners donated over $100,000 and the corporation over $250,000 in gift cards. You seem to be assuming these corporations are doing nothing, but perhaps it's because they are just not making a big deal out of it that you don't know.

I support advertising a method for helping those who have lost everything.
Of course we would all like to avoid corporate influence but the fact remains this is a simple way to help those poor people.

It is still considerate ( in my opinion) to be a good/hot deal if I use a buy one get one free coupon to get two big Mac, and two dollars will be donated.

Just had my 5.49 Big Mac meal. Delish. I'm such a good person, doing things for others without considering the fact that I get an awesome Big Mac out of the deal. Enjoy the dollar, Ft McMurray.

It definitely helps me to choose what to eat if I go to McD this weekend. Normally, I don't order Big Mac, but I would because of this thread. It is a hot deal, my Big Mac is worth an extra $1 now!
