[MEC] Arc'teryx Radsten Parka - Men's 50% off $750 -> $375

Edit: looks like it completely sold out online in less than a couple hours. You can still try to call up your local MEC to see if any are in store or if other nearby stores have stock.

Great brand
Great store
Great discount
and winter is coming

with Arcteryx you're usually looking at a max of 30% off and/or final sales and/or super limited sizes but this one is a cool 50% and can be returned if you change your mind. Part of me even wonders if this is a price error.

This is RedFlagDeals, not RedFlagCheapskates. Rich or poor, we all want our deals so we can buy even more stuff we may or may not need.

I own this jacket and it's amazing. Can confirm that it's waterproof, windproof, and warm, (for life on the west coast).

Looks like an amazing deal. Now let's see the RFD effect in action!

Basically I'm hoping it sells out before I bite since I have an Arcteryx parka already but don't really like the colour but got it from tlh.

Don't say that or you'll trigger the people who have LEAF, Veilance products or purchased their coat 15 years ago telling you otherwise.

I'm pretty sure most of their core brand is made in China and Vietnam now. The Alpha SV I believe is the only one from their original line still made in Canada.

For the $750 price shouldn't it have a down or feather insulation instead of .......polyester?

I have been using both down and synthetic insulated jackets and I have to say I prefer synthetic. Not sure if it's just the jacket type but my synthetic ones are lighter, have much more evenly spread insulation, I'm less worried about accidentally bunching up the down by sitting on it etc, and most of all, no dealing with feathers bleeding out over time (and getting on other clothes).

Also for anyone who is moving around with their jacket (even if just walking around), synthetics tend to breathe more while you're active so end up being much more usable. I find any down I wear ends up being just straight up stuffy and end up overheating.

Can I use this one as a ski jacket? I'm going to ski the first time in my life this December, so this is definitely a newbie question :P

I think this is up to -5 degrees the most, really good tight fit.

This doesn't come with powder skirt, good for walking around but not for skiing.
