Medical Laboratory Technician vs Pharmacy Technician

My friend got into Pharmacy Technician (PT) and got waitlisted for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) at Centennial College. The MLT is a 1-year program whereas the PT is a 2-year program. What are the pros and cons of the two programs? Which one is easier to find a job and is more stable? What are the job prospects and salaries like? Any comments, especially those currently working in these fields would be greatly appreciated :D

I wouldn't recommend either one. Pharmacy technicians deal with angry customers and get overworked by main pharmacist. Medical lab technicians deal with angry nurses and get easily overwhelmed with the amount of patient samples. The pay is around mid 20s for both. The max for lab technician is $32 in one of the downtown hospitals; no idea what the max is for pharmacy technician.
Btw MLT stands for Medical Laboratory Technologist, which is a different career and requires a separate 3 year schooling. Medical lab technicians are referred as MLA/T
¯\_(・_・)_/¯
