After several months of use, this was a great buy and a cheap way to get into smoking. I have done a few briskets, ribs, turkey, prime rib & pulled pork on it as well as basic hot dogs and hamburgers.

Now that I use it so much, I would probably appreciate the features that are on more expensive smokers like a 225 degree setting, the ability to expose the flame, easy ash clean out and a wifi controller.

Pit Boss came out with a wifi / Bluetooth controller upgrade. Besides adding wifi & Bluetooth, Apparently it adds a 225 degree setting but loses the 275. It supports Smoke/200/225/250/300/350/400/450/475/High. Where smoke is 180F and high is 500F.

Anyone upgrade their already and can confirm if it works / fits?

I purchased a PID controller and to be honest I'm not sure it was worth it. That being said these controllers are pretty plug and play.

I'd save up for something better or forget about it all together. That's just me and my opinion isn't worth much Face With Tears Of Joy.

Otherwise I agree, it's a great unit. Keep us posted!
