[Memory Express] $ 379.99 2TB Micron 1100 Series Solid State Drive

Just saw this on Memory Express when shopping for a SSD. Pretty decent price for a large size hard drive.

Was just about to post this. Just got it at Memory Express a couple hours earlier after work.

They also have the ADATA SU650 240gb for 70.

So this is the new thing kids are doing nowadays.
  • 256gb to 1TB SSD PCIe M.2 for OS and Apps
  • 1TB to 2TB SSD SATA III for file storage
We only dreamt of this a few years ago.

M.2s Nvme are nice but not many people can benefit from it in a meaningful way.

Still... I am really really holding myself back... 2TB SSD! The first one I bought was Intel OG 80GB and that was like $300~ :)

Yeah, the big difference in sequential read speed translate to an almost negligible difference in loading times. Typically not worth the premium for NVMe unless you do a lot of moving large files.

This has been the best bang for the bucks for price vs size. It's not the fastest but if you are replacing a spinning storage drive, any SSD is better.

Given Micron/Crucial's track record, reliability should be ok.

I have a 240gb and a 120 GB EVO SSD... Visual Studio and other apps keep on taking up space... So wanted to get a larger SSD for apps... The price is right. thanks...
