wait for the benchmarks, we dont know yet how the RTX 3080 laptop performs, it may not be worth the premium over the lower laptop GPUs, the fact that the desktop wattage jumps a lot across gens (+95W) but not the laptop ones (no power change) sounds like the performance uplift is not significant

I was listening to LTTs podcast yesterday and from what I remember he was talking about how there are going to be many models of the same laptop 3080 (I think he was talking about this version). It would be based on the manufacturer decisions and they would have different TDP usage. This would result in quite different performance from one 3080 to another depending on the build and power brick on the laptop.

Unless of course you want your viewers to see inside your nostrils...

I meant that 11th gen processors aren’t out and about yet. I expect a minor refresh of these laptops with an 11th gen processor shortly after 11th gen rolls out.

Basically Max-Q and Max-P variants of the 3080 chips. Max-Q versions with lower TDP will be used in thinner laptops and will be less powerful, but more portable. Max-P variants will have higher TDP and will be used in bulkier laptop but will be more powerful.

They are everywhere...I'm on one right now. You're a little behind with your info....look at Lenovo, HP threads in this very forum, all readily available
