Available for mainstream 11th gen. Not always on 11th gaming class 'H' processors.

I mean, he even says it in your quote.

To be honest I feel the 5900hx 3070 combo is better than the intel 10870h with the 3080.

Personally imo I think you will run into a GPU bottleneck before CPU... If I was buying a laptop like this I would go for the best GPU in this case the 3080.
Gaming PC: i9 9900ks, GTX 1070 8gb x2, 64GB RAM
Media PC: i5 9400f, GTX 1060 6gb, 32GB RAM
Phone: iPhone 8

Yes, that's what I said in my quote. I was offering a 17" option for another poster who asked. While it has a 3070 instead of a 3080 it does have 17", 300Hz and a better Ryzen R9 5900HX Cpu.

While this laptop might meet some peoples wish list I would think spending level would need higher expectation of performance. Out of the gate this laptop has 10th gen Intel CPU instead of 11th gen Intel or Ryzen 5 series. It also has 3080 Max Q and since this laptop is not noticably thin, should have Max P. I would prefer the Max P with 16Gb RAM for those expecting GPU bottleneck. I believe both the Max Q and Max P will be available in 8Gb and 16gb. Not sure of the RAM speed. It also has 240Hz while most high end gaming laptops will have 300Hz. It does have Wifi 6 which is good.
Anyway, you get what you pay for. This will likely be the lowest 3080 in market.

I remember a time when RFD would have laptop deals for $150 (I think this was like 6 or 7 years ago). I still have one of those Acer's that my son is now using for online school (with an SSD and a RAM upgrade). Now the best deal here is in the $700s. Oh how the times have changed...

I’m only seeing low-level intel 11th gen CPUs on non-gamer laptops after a 10 minute search on Dell, amazon and Lenovo. Am I missing something?

Curious, can you point me to a gamer laptop (gamer-level GPU) with an 11th gen Intel CPU? One with the 11th gen version of a i7 10750h or 10875h for example?

INTEL 11TH GEN

11th gen low-power mobile CPUs are out, yes, but these won't be going into gaming laptops.

11th gen high-power mobile CPUs (45W+ TDP) that will be used in gaming laptops are expected to roll out soon (Q1 2021).

Hope that clears it up for all y'all in this thread.

I wonder if Lenovo will have a price error on a 3000 series right when they release it, like with the y540
