I know there's a cost to producing these cases but after building my own 'case' out of an old table I found in the trash I'll never be able to spend more than 30$ on a case.

Zipties and tape. Nothing they can't handle.

eeew. Really?

Different strokes I guess.

For one, I welcome nice looking cases that don't look like a high school woodworking class project
RFD is not just about saving money, it's about the thrill of the hunt and getting the stuff I want without paying full price like Joe Shmoe did.
This applies to everyday items as well as high end items that I don't really need.

Looks decent, I'm waiting for the Cooler Master NR200 to hit canada that should be around $100-110, not tiny but a good mini ITX size case.

Done the same making my own gamer chair, nothing like some zipties, a seat from an old 1987 Buick Regal and wigs I found in the trash for a head rest.

Is the MSRP just bloated because this sale price feels like the right price?

Sounds like that time I heard a guy tell me he was going to airbrush t-shirts and air force ones to make some extra money on the side. I expected them to look like typical crap you find at the flea market, but turns out this guy had insane skills and was doing high end custom paintwork for cars and bikes.

Man had crazy skills.

Not saying thats the case here but lesson is not to judge a book by its cover.

My $0.02 here, don’t buy a mini itx case unless size is the most important thing for you. The lack of expansion is a serious hindrance down the line and instead of tossing in a thunderbolt PCIe expansion card for a computer that’s a few years old you now need a new motherboard, CPU and maybe RAM.

I bought a Corsair 250D years ago and regret it more as time goes buy. Personally will move up to a matx next time around for the reasons above as upgrades seem to be longer apart as time goes on.

Awesome. I was on the edge of buying one of these a while back at ~$220 and ended up with the ugly, but cheaper Lian Li TU150. Will pick this up and use it as an excuse to upgrade another system.
