I don't know what the performance of a 3050 would be like, but you're generally going to get MASSIVE performance bumps with DLSS
DLSS is arguably the best thing to happen to PC gaming in the past decade
FSR is a good concept, but it's garbage in comparison

It's literally the worst time in the last 10 years to build a mining rig.Franchise10 wrote: ↑ Soooo this is NOT the best time to build a mining rig?

The 3050 is great, and I tend to use dlss whenever I can. I'm not sure I notice much of a difference but that could be because I'm mainly playing older games.
It's called FRS I think, like toyota frs. And anyway it's not garbage at all. The new version FRS2.0 is even better than dlss, according to many credible reviewers. It's not 2020 anymore, and apparently AMD went hard.
Nvidia seems to have been slacking hard. The next gen AMD cards are probably going to be monsters.

Well, it was a time strike benchmark under ln2. Yes, I know it's not normal conditions, but being beat so badly by the 6900xt that a 3090 couldn't even cracked the top 30, is pretty much a slap in the face to nvidia. Especially considering they've been charging double for the 3080 and 3090 for all this time.hansdoreen wrote: ↑ Which benchmark did you check?
I have the 6900xt since release and it's just better than 3080 at the time, got beat by 3090 in almost all games. But value wise it's much better than 3090 for sure.
I expected the 6800xt to be just as good as the 3080 but I'm not sure. If I were in the market, I'd just choose the cheaper card.

Good, screw your miningnadrojcote wrote: ↑ My mining profitability has completely tanked. Asian miners are dumping cards like crazy. It's just a matter of time before we can get cards for a dime a dozen. I would wait for next gen to come out and this current gen will be unbelievable cheap.
At least with real mining, society actually benefits instead of being a parasite that produces nothing of value

I saw a MSI Rtx 3060 Ti on sale for 429 in the USA just a few days ago so I'm going to wait until it drops to $450ish CAD or black Friday, which ever comes first. Want to upgrade but no rush here.

That's definitely possible. I got my geforce 3050ti for $229 USD from evga direct. Sadly after shipping and handling costs, then taxes, the Canadian price came to around $380. The total price should have been around $300 Canadian if not for the shipping and handling.FlukeSkywalker wrote: ↑ I saw a MSI Rtx 3060 Ti on sale for 429 in the USA just a few days ago so I'm going to wait until it drops to $450ish CAD or black Friday, which ever comes first. Reading about miners shutting off their rigs due to being unprofitable is the catharsis I needed this week.

Still Holding strong with my 1080ti. Just curious why hasn't inflation hit the cards? I welcome the price drops but still pessimistic when they hit the wall of inflation.

The market is flooded with used cards from miners plus they ramped up productions for new ones because there was a shortage.
Now we have 2x the supplies, likely will see another massive price drop when the new gen gets announced. Honestly, great time to buy when that happens if we stick with 1440p or 2k at 75hz. It will likely matters more for 4k.

Unless you're gaming at 4K there's nothing wrong with a 1080ti. It was such a beast in its day that it can still manage 90fps+ on most games (with decent settings) at 1440p.

Why lol, who cares about them? I hope they lose money. I also hope Nvidia loses over the next two quarters, they were selling directly to large mining farms.superxxxstud wrote: ↑ Feeling bad for FB marketplace sellers still trying to get 1200$ for used 3080's.

Yeah you're on the wrong site if you saw that.

Not to mention that FSR 2.0 (which is much better than 1.0) is currently in like 2 whole games.

Except it has more potential than DLSS given that it doesn't require AI cores to process. It just came out so give it some time for mass adoption. In the long run, I think it'll be the better feature.

I agree it has potential but AMD's history with software (specifically drivers) has not been good but they are getting better, so time will tell.generaltao99 wrote: ↑ Except it has more potential than DLSS given that it doesn't require AI cores to process.
