The AMD AIB cards' markup is just crazy.

Wow, another gaming GPU a person can buy without hitting F5 all day. There might even be a sale on GPUs before the end of this decade.

2060 has basically stagnated at launch price for 3 years now. Still hard to locate. I think you're a bit optimistic.

Yup. Direct from AMD is less than $600. There's no justification for this price.

Supply and Demand would be the justification for this price. That's how capitalism works.

Of course I realize that. However, IMO, that's an explanation, not a justification. The current prices are not justified. A nearly 70% markup over MSRP is greed.

Also all sales are final. They have preplanned for buyers remorse.

When scalpers are selling these for less, you know that the price is way over what it should be.

If people are buying it at 999$, then why would they sell it for 600$? Demand & supply is justification.

If you owned a business and were selling a product for 500$ but realized that clients were willing to buy your product for 800$, you’d likely increase your price. Otherwise, some people would buy it from you to resell your product and make 300$. Supply & demand at equilibrium.

I understand the economics behind it. Believe me, I do.

But these AIB manufacturers are destroying a lot of good will and brand reputation IMO by charging so much over MSRP.

Canada computers has a bunch of cards in as well but they're all selling them at scalper prices.

Amazon the American company as much as I hate to say it has been the only company not gouging and selling cards at the actual MSRP when they have them in stock.

Amazon third party sellers is a different story.

I want to support Canadian but these companies took advantage of us during this situation they're not paying more to get these cards but they are gouging us.

I'll repay them by getting my cards elsewhere in the future

It's more like 10:30 to 1.

Its up to AMD when they drop, they aren't committed to dropping on Thursday.

But it's a great way to get current gen gpus at Msrp.

If you were willing to pay $1,000+tax for a 6700 XT you could have gotten one from scalpers months ago, you can get one from them for cheaper now. This is the least desired current gen card and it's a poor value at MSRP to boot.

Memory Express labeling this as the "24 hour deal" is just the cherry on top.

so much butt hurt from people who don't like capitalism. Supply and demand is the greatest thing ever in human history. And bad things always tend to happen when supply and demand isn't followed. Notice that there are basically 0 communist countries still existing outside of north korea.

And this is REAL supply issues, not the fake ones created by government legislation, ie those patent / copyright laws that benefit pharma and inflate prices to crazy levels. This supply issue is due to a chip shortage, has nothing to do with the government.

For now, I'm not touching AMD cards, god love'em.

They had the option to go premium product or aggressive pricing, and they went neither.

Now that being said, I cancelled my order for a pre-built 3080 TI system for less than $2,200 + HST.

Now some would call that an idiot move, but would an idiot post 20,000 times over three years?

I rest my case.
